Southern Lightning simplify Applications with Sage Job Costing Software

Southern Lightning came to us looking for a Sage Job Costing Software to help deal with applications for payment and retentions alongside their Sage 50 accounts package. They have a growing client base in the construction industry who require applications for payment rather than proforma invoice.

The team has been dealing with the management of applications and retentions by various spreadsheets. This was proving timely to keep track of who had paid, outstanding balances and when retentions are due.

We worked with the accounts’ manager at Southern Lightning to find the best functionality to fit their needs. Predominantly suppliers of lighting safety equipment do not have a need for Sage Job Costing Software in the detail that the construction industry do.

After a demonstration of Construction Manager, we were able to put together a package to simplify the management and tracking of applications and retentions all in one place.

Within this functionality of Construction Manager, amounts and payments are clearly flagged when outstanding or overdue. Applications for payment are produced without raising a VAT invoice which can include day works, variations and retention values.
