Construction companies choose Eque2’s Construction Manager for Xero

Eque2 has defied the often slower summer period to secure 22 new customers in July. Last month saw a number of new wins opting to integrate Eque2’s software with Xero, as well as move away from old systems to streamline processes and drive efficiency.

Construction Manager integrates with both Sage and Xero, enabling businesses that use either of these accounting solutions to save time by removing the need to move sales and purchase information.

For companies looking to leave old legacy systems behind but keep using Xero, it offers the answer they are looking for – an all-in-one solution to manage all their industry-specific processes. From controlling project costs to streamlining contract management, small and medium-sized businesses across the UK are getting on board.

Here, we spotlight a few companies that have recently chosen Construction Manager for Xero and highlight why it’s the right solution for them.

Chichester-based MGD Specialist Interior Finishes, the largest supplier of Altro Wall Cladding products and systems in the UK, has selected Construction Manager for Xero to replace its legacy system.

The company was using an old, unsupported on-premise system. Hesitant to make a change after using it for 18 years, the business wanted a solution that would meet its requirement for project-specific accounting but also integrate with Xero, as it liked its feel and use and wanted to retain a sense of familiarity.

MGD was impressed with Construct Manager’s full integration of back-office accounting with Xero and liked how it will enable the company to streamline budgets and see detailed breakdowns, as well as provide better reporting.

The use of Construction Manager will result in better management of timesheets, purchase orders, delivery orders, and invoicing. Additionally, the business will be able to pull subcontractor payments from Xero into Construction Manager for CIS purposes and subcontractor statements.

DCH Construction, an Essex-based construction company specialising in new-build and refurbishment across the East of England, selected Construction Manager Premium for Xero.
The business also wanted to replace a legacy system that was causing daily frustrations for the team and had limitations when it came to integrating with Xero, particularly for amending and updating purchase orders, causing issues with parts deliveries and invoicing.

DCH Construction chose Construction Manager after originally choosing to move to WorkflowMax by Blue Rock, which was causing issues with unnecessary duplication and missing the capability to manage applications with the subcontractor.

Having previously used a generic accounting system, the business wanted to work with people with in-depth knowledge of the sector and liked Construction Manager’s construction specific functionality.

DCH Construction will now have live access to data, instead of retrospectively reporting from Xero, meaning that information on committed costs will be up-to-date and accurate, resulting in improved business intelligence. The construction company will also be able to better track and manage cumulative applications, as well as better monitor internal and external plant.

Construction Manager will help to significantly reduce the data silos the business was experiencing, by bringing everything into an integrated system and giving the team access to a single, accurate version of the truth, fully integrated with Xero accounts.

Civil engineering and building contractors, RG Construction & Consultants, also selected Construction Manager for Xero, along with the mobile Time Sheets App to better track labour and time spent on jobs.

The Scotland-based business was looking for a new system, having previously relied on Excel, Xero and Xero Projects which meant multiple spreadsheets and manual processes. Before adopting Construction Manager, the company was tracking a high volume of labour costs and timesheets manually which was taking significant time. With the Time Sheets App, RG Construction & Consultants will now be able to streamline and automate this process. Employees will be able to enter timesheets anytime, anywhere and from any device, removing the need to chase, collate, enter or import timesheets manually.

With Construction Manager, the company will also be able to track retentions held by or against them efficiently, with all the data available in one place. Additionally, Construction Manager will enable the business to see live dashboard reports, bringing far greater reporting capabilities.

Other notable new wins in July spanned a range of specialisms and included: Devon-based electrical engineering company, EX2 Group; leading roofing and building contractors, Inspire Contract Services; Preston-based Kiernan Construction; and independent house builder, DMR Homes.
